Pathologic is a game where you take on the role of one of the three different healers who are trying to curb an outbreak of a deadly plague. It's a plot-driven open-world thriller.

Fighting tooth and nail to survive, facing the harsh realities of a collapsing society, making tough choices and often finding yourself in lose-lose situations, you are inevitably going to come to a simple realization: the plague is more than merely a disease. It happened for a reason. And it can't be cured unless that reason is uncovered.

In Pathologic, nothing is exactly what it seems. Although capable of saving lives, none of the three healers is an honest-to-god doctor: the Bachelor is rather a scientist; the Haruspex, the son of a pellar and an amateur surgeon; the Changeling, a blessed thief girl. The behemoth Abattoir looming above the Town is an ancient temple. The most prominent features of the local vistas were designed by opticians. The orderlies wear theatrical costumes. The children easily trade bullets for nuts. Inanimate objects like walls form blisters, and roots in the ground remind you of veins.

This is an odd place.

Get to know it, winning the affection of the locals and gaining allies, or try to carve your own path alone. Explore the Town, its inhabitants, and their traditions; fight both the plague itself and its victims; try to make a difference before the time runs out.

Just remember: you can't save everyone.

A virus has spread throughout an automated robot assembly factory, causing the entire production of robots to go rogue. The player takes the role of two robots named BURT (Battery Utility Robot Transporter) and IRN-E (Industrial Reparative Net-Engineer), who are the only ones unaffected by the virus. BURT is a moving battery robot who transports and supplies energy while IRN-E is a custodial robot who keeps the facilities maintained. These two must work together by making use of their functions to gather any spare batteries strewn throughout the factory so they can fight their way out.

This sci-fi robot shooter is a spin on the classic arcade rail shooter by adding in strategic planning in which you lay down your rails before you grab your gun. The gameplay is split in two phases: planning and action. When planning, you take the role of BURT by plotting your route of escape on a 2D map and picking up batteries along the way. In the action phase, you take the role of IRN-E by exploring the 3D map, picking up weapons and items and shooting down rogue robots that impede BURT's path. The completion of each level is dependent on the cooperation of the robot duo as BURT provides the power while IRN-E provides the protection.

Serial Cleaner is a story-driven, fast-paced stealth/action game, characterized by a 1970s theme and aesthetics. You are a professional cleaner. Your job is to clean up murder scenes by disposing bodies, covering up blood stains and hiding murder weapons and other incriminating evidence.

It's a dynamic stealth game, in which the player needs to figure out how to pick the location clean of evidence, while not getting caught. Exploring, experimenting and fast paced decision making are the key words here. Getting caught and questioned would put a black mark on the protagonist's career and the environment is often crawling with itchy-fingered police officers.

Serial Cleaner takes a humoristic, slightly macabre approach to its subject matter, and doesn't treat itself too seriously.

You will find Slumber on your smartphone or tablet so you can play it in bed before going to sleep, and in the morning you might wake up to a surprise! (...we can't promise it's not something fishy)

A solo indie title from Chris Parsons, Sol Trader is a genre-busting space simulation where it's not about what you know - it's who you know. The game mixes classic top down 2D spaceflight with in-depth strategic manipulation of your network of contacts. You fly from planet to planet in our solar system in the near future, interacting with the various characters you find in cities and in space.

Each new game contains a 200 year old procedural society. Thousands of random characters are born, live and die as the game is generated. You start from your character's birth, choosing your parents and all your major life choices as you grow up. Your choices determine your personality, your friends, relatives, business contacts and and enemies.

You'll then be able to create your own legend within this world: explore the known (and unknown) solar system, trade goods, customise your ship, form lasting friendships, run missions, blackmail enemies, dodge pirates and navy ships, and avenge the deaths of members of your family as you see fit.

Solace is an interactive animated experience based on celebrated science fiction writer Jeff Noon's short story about a near future in which marketing and addiction are disturbingly intertwined. It is narrated by actor Gethin Anthony, known for HBO's The Game of Thrones and NBC's Aquarius.

Central to the story is a sugary drink whose flavor is determined by twisting the cap. Creator Evan Boehm uses this drink as a starting point to visualize the story as a real-time, interactive, liquid simulation for the web. Everything that a user sees and is able to interact with is made out of touchable liquid. Think of the narrative as a magical substance that one can play with directly in the browser. One part narrative film, one part playful, surprising interactive experience.

Solace is a timely social commentary on a speculative near future told in a fantastic, new way, using technology to activate the imagination. Produced by Nexus Interactive Arts.

The Sound Garden is a Virtual Generative Musical System hosted on a simulator in the Open Simulator Grid (OSGrid). Here disparate sounds are composed and connected into a continuous Immersive Musical Experience. It encourages divergent play and allows the user to anticipate, blur and appreciate the boundaries of sound, music and noise. It allows connection to others by interacting in a Virtual Space through the language of Music. By being Virtual, an avatar is able to interact with music by touching sound loops, and manipulating them, and moving them around the three dimensional space. They can also introduce their own sounds to the musical landscape. It is an innovation to how music is composed, generated, recorded and appreciated in the Metaverse. The sounds range from the calls of frogs, waves of the sea, and a glacier groaning, to the sounds of a classical flute, and a jaw harp, and the generated sounds of a synthesiser that all connect into music that can border on noise.

Space Ribbon is the most unique racing experience to be developed in recent years. Set in space players chase a giant robot creature, either Panda or Tiger which spits out race track as it travels..

The procedural track generation means players never race the same track twice! Navigating a twisting, turning, unpredictable racetrack as it appears ahead of you is more engaging and intense. Having a limited perception of the upcoming track makes this is a true test of driver skill.

Our cars not only look great but they have a handling model that is fun and masterful. Drifting and slipstreaming are key to the player's success in the game. The majority of races are short sprints that are action packed as players battle against an aggressive AI system.

Progression in through the game is separated into cups each containing 3 races. Winning races unlocks upgrades for the cars and winning cups unlocks new vehicles. This is an accessible game with a learning curve that lends itself to newcomers to gaming while understanding the challenges player veterans expect.

Space Ribbon is one of the visually striking games to be released this year in the indie gaming market. It blend anime esque giant robot pandas with retrofit hotrod rocket cars into a psychedelic space extravaganza. It is unafraid and experiential in its construction, a genuine indie gem.

You have lost the love of your life. Overwhelmed by grief, you sit by her tomb, flipping through the pages of the journal that chronicles your life together. So begins SYNC, an interactive visual novel designed in Unity using Affdex, new facial recognition software from Affectiva that works with any standard webcam. SYNC was created to consider alternative mechanics that could enhance the presentation of our narrative. We believe that controlling the game through player emotions and facial expressions has the potential to strengthen player investment in the story as well as player connection with the main character by having them literally come to embody her emotional state.

Players assume the role of Alex, grieving the recent death of her lover, Ivy, in a car crash. Unable to move on, Alex can't help but futilely imagine what she might have done differently to prevent the fateful accident. Players advance the narrative by syncing their facial expressions with those of Alex, such as opening their mouths to catch snowflakes or blinking to metaphorically erase text. Throughout the story, players are also able to adjust Alex's emotional state to match their own, altering the tone of the presented images and text. Eventually, Alex (and the player) is faced with a choice: to accept the doomed relationship so they can begin to move on, or to reject the relationship and remain trapped in the past.
