A Crossing Industry is a video game exploring the economy of clandestine crossings in the occupied territories of Palestine. It is one component of a larger hybrid project mixing artistic creation, scientific research and interactive multimedia.

In A Crossing Industry, players guide an anthropologist as he investigates the impact of the border wall/fence on the harvesting of wild artichokes in a Palestinian village. During his mission, the anthropologist discovers the importance of the informal economy organised around clandestine crossings of Palestinians into Israel. This economy connects Palestinians to Israelis and reconfigures the public and private spaces of these two populations.

The storyline is based on the ethnographic research of Cédric Parizot (CNRS/Aix-Marseille Université) between 1994 and 2010. The game works as a fictional documentary of these activities, allowing players to better understand the role of field research, and even to possibly better understand certain aspects of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The game was designed and developed by the artist Douglas Edric Stanley (http://abstractmachine.net) in collaboration with Robin Moretti (http://robinmoretti.itch.io), with assistance from the students of the Atelier Hypermédia at the Aix-en-Provence School of Art as well as antiAtlas des frontières (http://www.antiatlas.net), a research group of artists, researchers and experts attempting to apprehend in a unique way the mutations of borders and spaces in our contemporaneous societies.

Alto's Odyssey is an endless sandboarding adventure set against a beautiful and ever-changing natural landscape. As a followup to the critically acclaimed endless snowboarder Alto's Adventure, Alto's Odyssey is designed to be enjoyed by returning players and newcomers alike.

The game features fluid physics-based gameplay, procedurally generated environments, and dynamic lighting and weather effects. Odyssey seeks to expand and build upon feelings of being alone in nature, but also of stepping outside of one's comfort zone and exploring the world beyond.

The creative direction for the series has always been to try and boil down the essence of immersion and provide players with a small window into a much larger world – a place they can escape to for even just a few moments during the day, and experience a living, breathing environment with it's own hidden surprises, including a variety of natural phenomena and wildlife.

Odyssey, like it's predecessor, continues to resonate strongly with a diverse audience from across the world, inspiring fans to reach out with their own artwork and messages of gratitude, including a number of truly touching testimonials from players who tell us how the game has helped them to cope with anxiety or grief, connect with a child with learning difficulties, or simply provide a moment of calm in their otherwise stressful lives.

Jacaranda (a meta-concept within the game Artifacts) is a broken-memory-space that intersects overlaying the island of Artifacts (like a transparent color card laying over another that reveals a new wavelength).

It is a digital-fantasy/folklore based on a true story about adapting to and developing in an environment of emotional abuse and isolation, and in particular, how computers and the internet provided a way to develop identity and personal boundaries through many times questionable means. The main character is a child who raised themselves through a trial and error unique to the digital age, the computer however makes for a very dysfunctional parent and playground for a child.

The influences of the story are set in approximately 1998-2005 but the timescales jump and blend because it represents the imperfect process of memory. Artifacts interactions are based on the explorations of a digital age child and the power structures and construction of platforms of the internet of the early 00's, which is analogized as a bio system. It is from the view of a naive and young consumer, as well as the adult looking back on the pros (creativity, writing, expression, social connection) and cons (unchecked predatory advertising, data scraping, contact with dangerous adults, replacing human contact) of being raised by the internet.

Jacaranda has two locations, the dollhouse- which is a death-drive inspired "reliving the trauma" in a dark and unsettling yet playful setting. The other location is Artifacts, an off-kilter dreamscape about the 00's internet and its ecosystem.

Astronaut: The Best is a narrative/strategy game about running a proper space academy using hard work, lies, and witchcraft. Astronaut: The Best endeavors to hit the sweet spot halfway between narrative choice-making games and management simulations, using procedural narrative techniques and surreal comedy to constantly surprise players. Its simple UI and focus on story present an accessible experience without sacrificing strategic depth.

Features:
* Enjoy having too much power over the lives of fake astronauts with complex personalities.
* Suffer the unwanted imposition of tabloids, televised experts, and the Five High Priests of Flaustria.

"Black Room," is a browser-based, narrative game about falling asleep while on your computer, on the internet. You play as an insomniac on the verge of sleep, moving through shifting states of consciousness. Hallucinatory, pixelated visions of landscapes filled with sprites ripped directly from the arcade/NES/SNES video games of your childhood appear and disappear as you click through fragile internet spaces. Point-n-click mini games are scattered throughout the narrative. Often interrupted, you continually return to the Black Room, a meditation technique your mother taught you for falling asleep, visualizing black flowers in a black vase on a black table in the center of a black room.

This game, conceived as a feminist dungeon crawler, features a majority female cast of video game sprites from the 1970s-current day. This work seeks to bring these characters together to form new narratives: Chun Li reposes elegantly in a desert oasis filled with flamingos; Catwoman languidly cartwheels across the nighttime beaches of Coney Island; Jennifer Simpson, the lead character from Clock Tower, runs endlessly through the brightly pixelated fantasy landscapes of the Oregon Trail. These narratives appear as "Strange Visions," to the player, induced by shifting stages of wakefulness.

Fusion of computer turn-based strategy gameplay and chess. Expanding chess rules in such a way that is interesting to play in a form of a video game is a not an easy task, and that is exactly what we are trying to do in Chessboard Kingdoms. It is not a new skin for ordinary chess pieces. In fact, first and foremost it is a turn-based strategy game with a variety of tactical scenarios, castles, sieges, basic economy, warriors, even wizards! Chess happens to spice it up by landing its familiar movement patterns to our units.

In Chessboard Kingdoms you can fight for dominance in classic chess-inspired "Kill the King" mode, but also in "Capture the Flag", which isn't normally seen in turn-based strategy games. Various terrains and obstacles make for interesting maps with tons of strategic exploits to be discovered. Multiplayer is a strong focus and players are encouraged to try their skills against up to 3 other players in on-line matches, or insingle-player against AI.
