Spin a tale, Shape a world — Experimental AI-driven Storytelling Game

Start your journey in the ancient Persian Empire as the heroine Shahrzad, who can turn words into reality! To take revenge on the evil king, you'll need to tell stories that lead him to mention weapons, turning them into blades for your fight…

The rapid advancement of AI technologies has caused controversy and fatigue. Much of the discussion focuses on using AI to generate assets, seemingly advocating for AI to replace creative labor. Yet, as creators, we have found a unique ludic capability in AI as a medium for real-time interactive storytelling. Is there a way to use AI in games that is both ethically considerate and creatively fulfilling? Can we let AI tell our story which is literary, not about tech itself?

We don't have the answers, but games can open up more discussion. "1001 Nights," is an experimental narrative game adapted from Persian folklore. The game was nominated by 2024 A MAZE. The game art is all created by artists – AI is used solely for gameplay. We have also published two papers about our narrative system.

In this game, the evil king Shahryar marries a girl each day only to execute her the following morning. The player, as the storyteller Shahrzad, becomes his next bride. She possesses the secret magic to turn language into reality. Players need to strategically guide the King to narrate tales together with weapon words, such as 'sword' or 'shield' ... These will materialise as weapons to fight the king. This approach creates a form of collaborative storytelling where the player must use their imagination and creativity.

Powered by generative AI (large language models and stable diffusion), this game hopes to explore the boundary of reality and fiction. Shahrzad seeks to reshape her destiny, challenging patriarchal norms. Players redefine the game's boundaries, crafting stories that surpass authorial constraints.

A Game Called Paako is a pixel-art text adventure 2D platformer metagame, made by a USC Games student from China. It tells the story of the whole process of "C.Huang" developing his thesis game project named "A Game Called Paako".

Like many other "meta-games", Paako's story involves the perspective of game devs, specifically, a student game dev about to enter the game industry. But what really sets it apart in this genre is its honest documentation of its own creative process. "Can a video game really describe how itself was made?" Paako aims to take up this challenge.

The story is told not only through dialogue, but also through moderately difficult platforming levels and dozens of different mini-games. As (sort of) an autobiography of Chaoran, it also delves into a student game designer's inner world, revealing private feelings and thoughts about dream-chasing, while also paying homage to many games that inspired this game.

How does one gamify the art of acting? How does one try to theatricalize a game? A Person Stands on an Empty Stage is a digital, single-player game that adds a surrealist take to the aesthetics and structures of performing on stage in order to explore questions around identity and the self, how it's constructed and deconstructed, and what it takes to devote one's life to a craft. The art of acting is explored through the mechanic of script-making: collecting and exchanging words through a visceral exchange of body parts with other non-playable actors on stage. As you build a character and assemble your script, you lose and add pieces of yourself. Lose yourself on stage if you want… and see what you become in the process.

A mystical, magical sokoban puzzler about letting go. After the loss of her beloved partner, Alice is left with seven emotionally resonant artefacts. She embarks on a journey to revisit seven of their favourite places and cast each artefact into an abyss, so she can be free of her grief. The game's story serves as an emotionally resonant and reflective undercurrent of love and loss, reconnecting with nature, and letting go of old memories that are holding you back. It casts the puzzle mechanics in a new light, as metaphors for these themes.

As Alice, venture out into a serene overworld, with 7 artefacts your lost love Aura left behind. As you puzzle through each world, you bring the artefacts from portal to portal, until you reach the special places where each one can be cast into an abyss, allowing Alice to unfold into a freer and lighter person, one step closer to completely letting go.

Gameplay
After Light Fades is a sokoban with a rich and magical ruleset, with a feast of elements that players can get creative with. Everything from using fire to melt ice, connecting electric circuits, magnets, fire propagation, growing vines, magic mirrors, clones, teleports, angels, transmutation and so much more! Much of the uniqueness of the puzzle solving comes not in the typical hero-to-object relationship, but in the relationships objects have with each other - a key can't be pushed but energy can push a key, an angel be used to tow a crystal, a crystal can transmute earth into energy, and so on. These puzzle mechanics are all rich metaphors for Alice's journey of grieving, letting go, and thus transforming herself into the higher form of an alchemist.

Story
Alice embarks on her journey after her partner Aura's tragic death in a house fire. Sifting through the ashes, Alice finds the seven artefacts. Compelled by mysterious emotions tied to these items, Alice resolves to visit seven significant places they shared, casting each artefact into an abyss, to let go and find solace. Each artefact represents a stage of Alice's healing and unlocks a realm reflecting its nature. Feather Fields challenges her toward vulnerability. Glimmer Cove is an oasis of fools-gold treasures that unlocks a deeper grief. The Crystal Lagoon brings clarity but hardens Alice's heart. The mountains of Echo Peaks show a vista of the patterns of the journey-so-far. Finally, in the the Ever-Shifting Manor, Alice realizes the true extent of her abilities, threading a way home as a reality-transforming alchemist.

As Alice travels, silently-watching guardian spirits recognize her abilities, eventually inviting her into the secrets of alchemy and towards one final revelation that casts her whole journey in a new light!

Arranger: A Role-Puzzling Adventure follows the story of Jemma, a small-town misfit on a journey of self-discovery. Venturing out beyond her stiflingly cozy confines, she finds an inspiring world - but also one ruled by fear, and a strange, immovable 'static' force. Can she disrupt a culture of stagnation, and find a place to fit into it?

Gameplay takes place on a unique, interconnected 'grid' that spans the entire world, snappily uniting movement, exploration, and combat. Anything on the same row or column as Jemma moves when she moves, and can 'loop' around the edge of the grid - creating both a playful sense of chaos, and a regular stream of small, thoughtful puzzles that twist and play with the central mechanic.

Bulwark is my attempt at making a game that doesn't force a gamer to go into their "mechanical" problem solving mindset but remain in their creative /explorative mindset.

It is at the surface an organic city builder/designer with grand strategy elements with a minimal UI, but everything is designed to keep you exploring and creative building rather than problem solving. Or that is at least the motivation.

I wanted to make something that is akin to my own creative process, something highly chaotic and not constrained to rigid grids and rulesets, something fast and messy.

On top of that I need the world and setting for that creativity to be as alive as possible, to feed the players imagination that what they are creating is a living thing.

The game is set in the world of the Falconeer, my debut solo-title released in 2020, but whereas that was a personal exploration of escape and freedom wrapped in a high action air combat game, this is a personal exploration of creativity wrapped in chill builder/strategy game.

So when you start of the game it is recommended to release the tropes of citybuilders of grids and buttons and stuff like hoarding resources but understand its a sort of a deconstruction and focusing on just making something cool will reveal the deeper mechanics and gameplay as the game unlocks only if you reach certain population milestones.

The game was released in march (not in EA) but I am evolving the game over time, the most recent addition added a survival-esque game mode and a ton of combat focused mechanics, but these are best experienced after getting to grips with the core game.

DEEP PHYSICAL & SOCIAL SIMULATIONS — Melt walls, freeze rivers, dig anywhere in the world with a pickaxe. But also: win favor with reptiles because you shared the location of a warm rock.

TACTICAL GAMEPLAY — Turn-based, sandbox exploration and combat offers as many solutions as you and your mutations, implants, artifacts, and skills are creative enough to invent.

So if you have a mutation that lets you, say, psionically dominate a spider, you can traipse through the world as a spider, laying webs and eating things.

DYNAMIC FACTION SYSTEM — Pursue allegiances with over 70 factions: apes, crabs, trees, robots, and highly entropic beings, just to name a few.

Clock is a chill and therapeutic experience that dives into the whole concept of time, exploring how we perceive it and deal with feeling disconnected as we grow up. One morning, 27-year-old Joanna notices something weird: the clock in her bathroom is ticking way too loudly. She finally takes a moment to really look at herself in the mirror. As the steam clears, her mirror turns into a 'life clock,' letting her go back and revisit her past.

Join Joanna as she relives key moments through interactive scenes—like competing in a drawing contest, immersing herself in high school music moments, making college decisions, figuring out signal processing in engineering class, and stressing over job hunting. These memories make Joanna rethink what time means to her—whether it's the focused moments while drawing, the peaceful and joyful times with music, the anxiety and uncertainty before big decisions, or the delayed realizations of life's lessons. It is all about time, with no good or bad.

This journey is a conversation with herself, a series of memories that help Joanna understand and accept her past. As the clock starts ticking again, she knows what her next steps are.

Confined is a short horror-puzzle game where you have three minutes to solve a puzzle to escape a kidnapper's grungy, dangerous basement.

The concept behind my game revolves around the player waking up disoriented in a dark basement. The only clue is a VHS tape labeled "Play me" next to a television. Once the tape is inserted, instructions appear on the screen, informing the player that they have 3 minutes to escape the basement by finding four hidden numbers, and these numbers form the keycode to unlock a safe containing the key to freedom.
My goal was to design a gameplay flow that fits the 3-minute time limit while balancing the difficulty of finding the numbers—not too easy but not frustratingly hard. The first number is immediately visible in a bucket, but the others are cleverly hidden.
To retrieve the first hidden number, the player must find a toilet, flush it, and retrieve a screwdriver hidden inside. This screwdriver is crucial for unscrewing a vent, where the first hidden number is revealed, along with a glowing crowbar used to find the next number.
The character provides in-game dialogue to guide the player on how to use the items they collect. For example, after walking over a creaky carpet, the player might notice a blood trail and wood planks poking out, hinting that there's something beneath. By removing the carpet and using the crowbar to pry up the planks, the second number is revealed.
The last number is concealed behind two box crates. To help the player, I included subtle hints like a food tray with two items and one pointing toward the crates and even two crates, reinforcing the significance of the number "2."
Once all four numbers are collected, the player must input them into the keypad in the correct order from how they were found: 41222. If entered correctly, the safe unlocks, revealing the key. If the player successfully escapes within the 3-minute limit, they experience the "True Ending."
In the "True Ending," after escaping, a new scene unfolds, showing the same basement in the future, now renovated and inhabited. A new character, having just watched the VHS tape, realizes they are in the same basement. Seconds later the view switches to a surveillance camera, revealing the killer still lurking, implying he still lives in the house.
If the player fails to escape in time, they encounter the "Bad Ending." The sound of a car arriving outside, followed by footsteps approaching, builds tension until the killer appears, ending the game in a fatal confrontation.
My inspiration for creating Confined stemmed from a mix of influences, including the eerie atmosphere of Silent Hill, the suspense and tension of 1980s slasher films, and the psychological horror of the modern film Black Phone. However, to truly capture the unsettling mood I envisioned, I knew these influences alone wouldn't suffice. To enhance the game's immersive experience, I decided to incorporate a VHS effect, paired with low poly graphics, which together evoke a nostalgic yet unsettling vibe that draws players deeper into the world of Confined.

Crestfallen: Medieval Survival is an immersive journey into a realm where the land itself seems to breathe with ancient mysteries and untamed power. Set in the crumbling remnants of a once-great kingdom, players are thrust into a world of harrowing survival, where every choice shapes their path. The wilderness is unforgiving, teeming with marauding bandits, ravenous beasts, and the eerie whispers of forgotten ruins. But it's not just brute force that determines one's fate—players must master the delicate art of crafting, diplomacy, and tactical strategy. Each settlement encountered holds its own secrets, and alliances formed today could crumble with the turn of a blade tomorrow. Every decision ripples across the land, a medieval landscape in which only the cunning and strong will rise above the crestfallen remnants of what was.

Amidst the bloodstained battles and frost-bitten nights, the heart of Crestfallen beats with the pulse of medieval authenticity. Every sword forged, every village raid, and every haunting melody of the game's soundtrack weaves a rich tapestry of survival and storytelling. As players navigate the political intrigue of feuding guilds and struggle to rebuild what has been lost, the immersive audio sets the mood, echoing with somber tones of a world on the brink. The shifting seasons bring new challenges, from deadly winter chills to vibrant but dangerous summer woods, making the pursuit of survival not just a test of skill but of endurance and wit. It's more than a game—it's a living world, one where every stone, sword, and storm could be the end or the key to a kingdom reborn.

It has been 30 years since the first state-of-the-art DOE (Deep Ocean Explorer) "Endeavor" has gone missing while descending towards the wreckage of the Titanic, the world's most famous shipwreck. The failed expedition garnered worldwide attention as audio footage of inexplicable knocking sounds and undermined growls were released. For once, the wreckage of the Titanic has lost its spotlight as everyone from government bodies to the average explorer has the same question in mind, "what ELSE is in the deep unknown?" There were speculations on what happened to the Endeavor, some say deep-sea creatures devoured the vessel while others believe the crew members have exceeded the limits of their sanity amid the unknown. Captain Walter has put together the best team he could find for the task, but will it be enough?

Introducing DOS (pronounced "doss"), the album, which composer for games, audio designer, and saxophonist Steve Pardo has also developed into an isometric music-driven platformer game.

DOS, the game, is a single-player, beat-based platformer, with a bit of puzzle solving, adventure game mechanics, and a subtle narrative. You play as a cube with eyes that blink, where every song on the album is presented as a level of the game. It is a story told as an adventure, simple enough for anyone to pick up and play, with just a touch of reactive challenges along the way, letting the music take center-stage.

DOS, the album, is instrumental and cinematic in nature, rooted in the jazz tradition, and consisting of influences spanning indie rock, electronic music, ambient, and classical musics. It is patient, evolving, melodic, and curious. It consists of seven songs written by game composer Steve Pardo during a season of his and his family's move from Boston to Nashville, being a season of change and with a spirit of adventure and hope.

DOS is the debut project to be released by the indie game development studio The Pardo Brothers, which was co-founded by Steve and Jonathan Pardo. Steve Pardo performs on woodwinds, guitars, keys, synths, and FX, as well as Mike Baggetta on electric guitar and FX, Jon Estes on guitars and bass, and Brian Fitch on drums. Special guests include Liz Estes on violin, and Amy Pardo on flute.

A man in a dragon mask is locked in a self-made prison of greed and consumption. His desire to collect and pile up gold coins serves as the only way for the player to interact and instigate him into action, as he will rush to collect any coin in sight. The house is also inhabited by a pack of living mechanical alarm clocks, that the man vigorously burns on his way to retrieve coins, as burnt clocks will drop new coins where they stood. The game is frequently disrupted by pop-up commercials that block portions of the screen, offering products in return for payment in coins. Bought products will manifest in the house and affect the course of the game in malevolent ways. The player is thus faced with a challenge, as he/she mustn't run out of coins on the one hand, while trying to avoid drowning in harassing commercials on the other hand. A single door seems to be the only way out, but opening it has a steep price tag, and what lies beyond it is anyone's guess.

FISH FEAR ME is a top-down Vampire Survivors-style roguelike where you fish up your enemies to fight, defeat, and sell them! Catch fish, uncover secrets, and hunt bounties to earn cash and forbidden knowledge, then use those resources to upgrade your boat, unlock new weapons, and gain new abilities. Each region has new fish to catch, new bounties to fulfill, and new terrors of the deep. Mysterious monsters lurk beneath the placid waters of Nightmare Lake... Are you able to bring home the biggest catch?

The thing that makes FISH FEAR ME special is its unique genre blend as a fishing roguelike: choosing your enemies via fishing adds a deep push-your-luck mechanic to the combat, and the cross-run roguelike upgrades allow for deep, slow exploration of the mysteries below the water. Gameplay expands in unexpected qualitative directions: unlocking fish bounties turns every run into a mad dash to find and catch the most valuable fish on any given day, while unlocking lures turns the game into a scavenger hunt to find and defeat the rarest, most obscure fish possible. Further upgrades to be included in the full game will have you interfacing with the eldritch, delving into whalebone catacombs, and eventually fighting the greatest catch of all: the Leviathan.

As the game progresses, you are invited to date this virus and possibly even marry it, allowing you to either play Minesweeper alone or with assistance.

Fucksweeper juxtaposes the risk inherent in AI against the risk inherent in Minesweeper, showcasing the ways in which we are compelled to engage with the oncoming rush of technological progress despite incomplete information and despite the high stakes. Additionally, we want to interrogate the idea of a "second intelligence" in game spaces, which is often feminized and therefore seen as tacitly dangerous.

Gloomy Juncture is a neo-noir psychological thriller and a character-driven adventure, leveraging slow-paced exploration and puzzle-solving to build tension and explore psychological themes. Featuring stylized art within a hand-drawn 3D world, fully-voiced characters, dynamic events and a point & click core.

Set in the 90s, the story unfolds in a decaying and morally bankrupt urban setting. You're not special; you're not a hero. One night a single gunshot shatters the silence, setting the wheels of fate in motion... You'll step into the shoes of a mundane janitor asked to complete a final task before clocking out, and it will turn into a pulp mystery as your fate collides with the aftermath of that critical gunshot, exposing your troubled mental state as the boundaries of sanity blur.

The puzzles are crafted to mirror the player character's psychological journey. As players progress, they will face gradually challenging puzzles and increasingly disturbing visual settings, drawing them deeper into the character's troubled mind. This paradoxical experience—searching for stability through puzzle-solving versus the growing instability in the character's psyche—creates a tension that steadily intensifies throughout the game.

Inspired by neo-noir films, psychological dramas, the works of Hitchcock, Lynch, Aronofsky and European horror, blends a cinematic experience with hardcore gameplay reminiscent of '90s adventures.

A peculiar tale about obsession, guilt and hopelessness.

I Mother is a game without words that explores the genesis of written language. Inspired by the groundbreaking findings of Genevieve von Petzinger, it touches on the reasons for the evolutionary triumph of Homo Sapiens, the extinction of the Neanderthals and tells a personal story of triumph over adversity that might explain the reason why, to this day, roughly 4% of our DNA is Neanderthal in origin.

Set in a beautiful art style inspired by oil paintings players take on the role of a solitary Neanderthal woman trying to find her way back to her tribe in a hostile world. During her journey, she discovers prehistoric abstract symbols written on rocks, and her ability to decipher this first human language soon becomes essential for her survival. She also uncovers the story of a man through more realistic cave paintings.

FEATURES:
The entire game interface is communicated to the player using symbols based on archaeological finds ranging from 35,000 BCE to 10,000 BCE.

One of the most unique aspects of the game is the main character's senses. Given the historical context that does not allow for maps, the player has to rely on her senses and memory.

Another unique aspect of the game is the main character's emotions.
She communicates with the player through emotional sounds and states in response to the environment.
Emotions also play a crucial role in overcoming obstacles as she explores the world. For example, when she uses the 'WarCry' skill to scare away aggressive animals, her emotional strength is depleted. She must meditate to restore it in order to use the skill again.

Some sections of the game explore mankind's first spiritual experiences through the use of land art, dreams, and rare natural phenomena.

Often, the events of the day give her intense dreams or even nightmares in which she has to fight her demons in a literal sense. These function as 'boss fights' and strengthen the spiritual layer of the game.

"Iruvam" is an innovative blend of Full Motion Video (FMV) and "lost phone" gaming, set against a backdrop of suspense and mystery. The game begins with a gripping cinematic sequence where Aruvi, the protagonist, finds herself in a perilous escape from an unknown assailant. Players immediately dive into the action, making split-second decisions that determine Aruvi's fate. These choices lead Aruvi down different paths, each fraught with danger and potential discovery.

Players are not merely making choices that branch the storyline; they are deeply involved in gameplay that demands physical interaction—tapping, swiping, and executing timed sequences that influence their progress and outcomes in the game. These actions are seamlessly integrated with live-action sequences, heightening the realism and urgency of the situations that Aruvi, the protagonist, faces.

As the narrative unfolds, Aruvi's journey takes a dramatic turn when she uses her phone to call for help, only to drop it during a subsequent encounter. This phone then becomes your phone, your gateway to Aruvi's life, where you must sift through her messages, videos, and apps to piece together clues and unravel the story behind Aruvi's chase.

Embedded within this dual gameplay are various mini-games that not only enrich the story but also challenge the player's problem-solving skills. These mini-games are seamlessly integrated, ensuring that each interaction adds depth to the narrative and provides critical clues essential for progressing through the game. Players are not just passive observers but active participants, directly influencing the outcome of the story with each decision and interaction, leading to a finale where the choices made along the way culminate in a dramatic conclusion that reveals the true antagonist and tests the will for survival.

Lift: The Last Days of the Westwind is an interactive VR narrative adventure, in which you take on the role of the Westwind Hotel's final elevator operator, guiding the lives of its patrons through action and gesture as the historic hotel nears the end of its life. The player navigates the world through levers that move the elevator up and down and open the doors to let patrons inside. Lift started out as a way to embrace the virtual reality medium by having a small place that would contain the user so they wouldn't get motion sickness through locomotion. The goal is to bring the story to the player through quirky characters and interesting mechanics.

Light is a short interactive narrative experience made using Unreal Engine 5 and Blender.
It is about our protagonist Arul, who is on a journey to find his light while being held back by multiple problems.
It is set in the mind of Arul and that setting is based on the landscapes, culture, and beliefs of the southern state of India, Tamil Nadu.

It aims to share the values of introspective meditation and mindfulness through a naturally flowing narrative rather than being too direct. The audience will also take away some key knowledge through the 'learn by doing' approach. The Game is extremely cinematic and musical which will make the audience fall in love with the world and make it more immersive.
The pilot version of Light premiered as a multiscreen cinematic version at Outernet, London on July 24th, 2024 and is currently being screened to the public everyday.

Lucky Tower Ultimate is a medieval comedy roguelite that looks like a cartoon and feels like a joke. It launched into Early Access on September 13, 2024.

Choose between three mysterious doors as you attempt to escape from a dangerous tower in this chaotically brutal adventure. Repeatedly meet your untimely demise as you make your way through randomly generated rooms that shift on every run. Behind each door is an array of traps, fancy hats, monsters, swarms of bees, potential companions, and more (all of which can be used as a weapon). During the quest, you will meet a large cast of quirky, hand-drawn monsters and townspeople – fully voice acted to help the humor land.

Meta progress is earned after a successful run escaping the tower, leading you to the village outside the tower. Here, you can visit a bank to deposit money earned in the tower, unlock new hairstyles at the barber, buy new items for your next journey into the tower, and relax after a stressful run in the tavern, before finding yourself back at the top of the tower - ready for another escape attempt.

From the studio behind 2020's award-winning "The Longing," Lucky Tower Ultimate is the first premium game in the Lucky Tower series, which started as iconic Flash games made by LTU's co-designers when they were just a couple of bright-eyed teens in Germany.

Perfect World is a 3D first person "art platformer" and environmentalist parable that eschews traditional narrative. The player platforms through multiple large levels, slamming "extractors" in order to activate them and exploit the environment in exchange for money. The player can then use this money to purchase further abilities like a jetpack and a grappling hook, which in turn makes activation of more extractors easier. With each activated extractor, however, the state of the world worsens. If the player plays the game, they destroy the world. In Perfect World, "the mechanic is the message."

The game critiques our environmentally catastrophic capitalist system and the game economies and progression systems that mirror it. It achieves this critique by subverting player incentivization: the more the player participates in the mechanics of the game, the more the world is destroyed. Consumption leads to destruction. The player can only escape destruction by declaring "I have enough" and ending the game early. From this critique arises a strong environmentalist, anticapitalist message. As we watch our world literally burn, melt, and be otherwise destroyed, largely due to the effects of capitalism, this message feels urgent.

Phynger Galaxy is an ambitious action puzzle game where you direct a ball that is affected by gravity to the goal by drawing platforms with your using your finger. There are barriers, mines and other obstacles to overcome and there are walls and teleporters you can utilize to direct the ball to the goal.

This is a unique blend of puzzle and action since timing and quick thinking are essential in this game. As soon as the player touches the screen, the balls starts falling and the player must act real fast to avoid ball to hitting the the limits and mines, which means failure. This is an addictive game. But, this is only the half of the story…

Each interaction of your hand with the screen and each interaction of the ball with the objects generates a musical chord. Each object interaction plays the chord with a different musical instrument. And each interaction initiates a chord progression.

You have to play it to get it. It's one thing to solve the puzzle, it's another thing to do it with the style. There are unlimited solutions to each level.

Goals
We plan to add:
• Many more levels
• Additional of obstacles, objects and power ups
• A great variety of chord progressions and instrument based sound fx to add to and enhance the unique auditory experience the game provides.
• We are considering adding a record / replay and share feature to the levels so that players share their solutions with the unique sound signature they generate with the other players. We would like to consider adding this option and discuss the best way to implement in as a part of Apple Arcade, if considered.

Note: An early version of the game was tested by a group of occupational therapists working with children on the autism spectrum in France. They reported using the game with children who have difficulties in writing and observed strong engagement and improvements in their skills. We are also considering adding a mode (or version) to the game specifically for such purposes.

Fight, flight, and steal to survive in PRICE OF FLIGHT, the bird-based bloodsport of the future. Aid the failing Avian Resistance, save yourself, or die on live TV in this board game-inspired RPG.

Pulling from JRPG battles, roguelike unpredictability, and Mario Party, our team of four did our worst. We call this pastiche a "gamelike." In the dark future of 20XX , the High Council of Eagleland has declared war on all birds. Your randomly-selected flock must scrounge to survive its migration around the game board. You'll make hard choices about when to fight or fly away. "Choose Your Own Adventure"-style events will impact your future in ways you can't predict. You may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile, driving directly into a tree. Anything can happen in THE PRICE OF FLIGHT.

Aggressive austerity mechanics emphasize resource management in every decision. How many items can you afford to steal from an enemy before their attacks become too deadly? Will you eat stolen food to heal, or burn it for fuel? Even a fortunate flock is still a small party traveling light. Optional challenges like collecting Score Gems will push even pro players to perch themselves in precarious positions.

Reclaim! Azhe-Giiwewining (Returning home) is a point and click adventure game about Ojibwe culture that is fully playable in the Ojibwe language. Our initial goal with Reclaim! was to create a space to engage with Ojibwe language outside of the classroom and ceremonies. While it's wonderful that Ojibwe can thrive in those contexts, it was important to us that the Ojibwe language be used in a less didactic and more entertaining context. Since beginning development 2 years ago, Reclaim! Azhe-Giiwewinning has grown into an authentic expression of not only Ojibwe language, but also of our culture and personal narratives. Our team at Grassroots Indigenous Multimedia prides itself in having a team of Indigenous creative leads from all walks of life. Because of this perspective, we've managed to make something truly special that draws on many different aspects of Ojibwe culture while respecting cultural protocols.

Reclaim! Azhe-Giiwewining tells the story of Miskwaa, a young Ojibwe girl from the city, visiting her Grandma in the countryside. One afternoon, while out picking blueberries for her grandmother, Miskwaa falls asleep in the woods. When she awakes, Miskwaa finds herself in a mysterious forest that's not quite our world and not quite the spirit world. In this dream-like place, Miskwaa finds that she can talk to plants and animals while using Ojibwe. Along with her friendly (but snarky) guide, Boozhii, Miskwaa must navigate this place by helping her plant and animal relatives, eventually finding her way home. Along the way she finds a sense of confidence and belonging with the Ojibwe language.

Rising River is an AI-driven self-analysis VR experience inspired by Jungian shadow theory and the VIA 24 Character Strengths. Players use their words and voice to restore a river, exploring their shadow self through both fixed and generative questions. The journey culminates in the appearance of a giant fish, symbolizing their shadow.

With my background in filmmaking, I view narrative as a tool for organizing memories and psychological structures. Research shows that storytelling helps people find meaning, construct identity, and cope with trauma. In this project, AI enables the generative and personalized elements of the narrative.

As players feed the fish with their words, their boat moves forward in an immersive environment, generating new questions and leading to different outcomes in the final scene. Through embodied interactions, players' thoughts are externalized as objects within the world, guiding them toward deeper self-analysis and offering fresh perspectives on self-reflection.

Seasonspree is a cozy time-nudging game where you play as Sunny, a cheerful little tanuki, walking around a tiny planet full of your animal friends. When Sunny visits an NPC, she has the option to take the item they're holding, or give them an item if she has what they want, and the next day, she sees the result of that decision. If she ever needs to change something, she can always walk back to the left, to the previous day, where she'll encounter the same NPC, and reverse her decision, changing what happens when she returns to the future.

Traveling back and forth through time this way, Sunny explores the final weeks of each season, as her friends prepare for the upcoming seasonspree, a festive party celebrating what makes each season unique and memorable. Along the way, she'll find friends who aren't quite ready for the occasion, or are dealing with other things in their lives, and helping them will result in a happier finale to the season, and possibly a better ending to the game.

- A fantasy fairy tale game with a generous helping of comedy and adventure, "Snow White & The 7 Endings" is entirely text-based, in the style of interactive fiction.

- This tongue-in-cheek literary adaptation can be played in less than an hour, or up to three hours if you want to explore every possible ending.

- Embrace the strange macabre nature of Brothers Grimm storytelling, or change the story entirely -- in this game, you can see (among other things) what would happen if Snow White was born plain; or if she rebelled against her evil step mother with a raised army of devotees; or even if she perhaps was tempted to learn the Queen's dark magic herself.

- Guided by a narrator who pokes fun at the source material and doesn't hold back a sarcastic remark when the player's choices warrant it, this game brings you into the literary folk world of the Brothers Grimm while expanding the possibilities of what Snow White's tale encompasses.

- The game is playable on a browser, on your mobile, laptop, or desktop device. You will not need to download anything; it is played on the Iffly website, but you will need an internet connection to play it through.

Are you ready to dodge walls? Wall Dodging 3D is a casual game where you play as a blue ball in an environment of walls to dodge in every level with a 3D front perspective view. The blue ball moves forward itself, and all you have to do is to have the blue ball make it to the end of the level by moving it left and right without hitting a wall. The walls consist of red walls which stay still, the purple, cyan, green, yellow, and orange walls which move from side to side with each color indicating their speed, and the two black sides. If you hit a wall then you start over from the beginning of the level, whereas if you make it to the end of the level without hitting a wall then you move on to the next level as you keep progressing after every level you have completed. With a total of 100 levels in the game you start out with 3 rows of walls side by side. The length of the level grows 50 percent more longer every 5 levels, and the width of the level grows more wider by adding an additional row of walls side by side every 10 levels.

"Weapons Arena" is a top-down, turn-based strategy game where players control a firearm to break through encirclements of melee weapons!
Game Features:
Easy to pick up, hard to master

The game has minimal controls: use the mouse to aim in four directions, and left-click to shoot. Due to recoil, shooting also causes you to move backward. This means a single action both attacks and moves you. Therefore, players must carefully consider each action, as every shot triggers a series of chain reactions.

Transparent enemy intentions make combat more strategic
Observe, understand, and decipher enemy behavior patterns. Avoid danger through careful positioning and defeat enemies strategically.

Roguelike upgrades add depth to gameplay

After each level, players can choose one upgrade from three randomly offered abilities, such as penetration, auto-aim, knockback, or explosion. While these upgrades can make you stronger, they also come with risks, such as close-range explosions damaging yourself. Auto-aim might not always target your desired enemy. Constructing your abilities wisely and exploring interactions between different weapons and talents becomes an essential part of the game!

"Whirlight" is a point-and-click adventure game that artfully blends classic genre features with
contemporary technical advancements. The game's visual appeal lies in its unique approach to design: while the characters and backgrounds are rendered as 2D assets, they are originally created in immersive 3D environments and then pre-rendered to give a distinct and engaging look.
Players embark on an adventure with two characters, Hector and Margaret, each bringing their own unique perspectives and abilities to the gameplay. As the story unfolds, players can switch between these characters to solve various quests and challenges. The game is infused with a continuous strand of nonsensical humor and ironic wit, making for an entertaining and unpredictable journey.

Hector is weird. His brilliance is matched only by his misfortune, and so his every creation turns out to be a failure. But just when his creative streak seems to have run out, his most amazing idea ever knocks on his door. To finish his new invention, Hector will have to explore the suggestive Verice Bay. However, right on the verge of achieving his goal, more trouble arises: what was supposed to be the solution to all his problems turns out to be a leap into the unknown. Fortunately this leads him to meeting Margaret, a strong and determined artist and a perfect travelling companion. Together they will embark on a series of adventures through space and time, amidst bizarre characters and unlikely situations, until they foil an imminent threat that looms over the entire world.

The award winning follow-up to THE ENIGMA MACHINE (2018) and MOTHERED - A ROLE-PLAYING HORROR GAME (2021), [ECHOSTASIS] is the long-awaited final chapter of solo developer Jamie Gavin's psychedelic existential horror trilogy, offering a story that could only be told through the medium of games.

溯Rewind is a minimalist arcade game designed for mobile platform. The game is designed around the simple backtracking ability of the protagonist, which enables players to travel back to their position two seconds ago. Through their elegant maneuvers, players can guide the enemies into each other's paths and thus into oblivion.

Simple geometric shapes and the juxtaposition of Chinese and English text combine to form the minimalist art style of 溯Rewind. Boss fights inspired by classic games and real-time generated music also enhanced the taste of this game.
