Description

Zika Measles HIV is an interactive documentary about viruses, the most dangerous, yet also the most beautiful, living things in the world.

Viruses have intricate patterns on their shells, and in this game you can control those patterns. The models you see have been used to develop medical treatments, so they provide a direct insight into how viruses evolve. The exact same patterns that we see on these viruses have been found to appear in medieval Islamic art, and in the designs of baskets and buildings.

It's one thing to see pictures of these curious examples on the internet or in some article. But it is quite another to interact with the mathematics and see for yourself why the similarities exist - a powerful thing that can only be done in a game.
