Penned

Penned is a 3D action-adventure game in which the player uses vocabulary words to change the game world and gameplay. It is a quasi-educational game that seeks to teach upper-level vocabulary to players in an intuitive, contextual way. The goal of Penned is to expose players to words through association and repetition, allowing player choice to influence the learning process on a more impactful level than mere memorization.

You play as Finley, an intern in the Library of Realities, a cosmic library where every book is its own world. As the overseer of the Classics section, Finley notices that a malevolent force known as the Family has begun to invade each title, eliminating free thought. It's up to her to find out the source of the corruption and return each book to its rightful state. The first world to free of the Family? The somewhat twisted works of Edgar Allan Poe.
