Description

Wingman is a restaurant training simulation, built to help educate employees who seek to work within the organization. This simulation will teach the user how to be a busser, someone who sets and cleans tables in any establishment. The task was given to our team by Aspire of Illinois (http://www.aspireofillinois.org). The idea was to create a training simulator that may help people with disabilities learn what sort of task they are suppose to complete within the restaurant. We wanted to make it a dynamic simulation where the user could freely set and clean tables while the restaurant has customers coming into the restaurant. Towards the beginning of the simulator there is a set of tutorials that will help the user figure out how to move about and the sort of tasks he is expected to complete.

The simulation was created over the course of a sixteen week senior project using the Unreal Development Kit and Flash (mainly Scaleform) as the bulk of the middleware in use in the project. The game was designed to remove as much fine control from the player as possible, per the client's request, and uses a point and click system to navigate the restaurant and complete the various tasks.
