A 2D poetic experience of a mysterious character treading their way through a lifeless, ominous landscape. But with the help of a special lantern and friendly fireflies to light the way, they can reveal a beautiful world underneath that they utilize to make their way through the darkness and bring life back into their world.

Although the game's concept changed many times, we knew from the start that we wanted to create a poetic experience. Our primary goal was to use beautiful visuals and audio to get a powerful emotional response from players. Since it was very hard for us to find an artist to make all the assets we required, most of the art in this game is generated procedurally by the custom student-created engine at load time.

A unique abstract puzzle game, in which you interact with the elements of a microscopic organism, using a highly original fluid line-drawing mechanism. For example, you combine basic resource nodes into useful compound nodes. Or sometimes, break apart compounds to release their resources. You must change the cell structure, sometimes breaking open cell walls, at other times creating new divisions within a cell. Each level can only be solved by figuring out the right sequence of interactions. As you progress, different elements are introduced.

There are 100 levels which will test the lateral thinking abilities to the limit. The game also contains a built-in level editor: players can make their own custom puzzles and publish them online.

Trouble in Toy Town is a couch-multiplayer game where 4 players, attached together by ropes, compete to collect the most buttons, while hindering others from achieving their goal.

We wanted to make a game that had a strong emphasis on physics, which are custom made, from scratch, in C++. That's when the idea of having a multiplayer game that is both competitive and cooperative emerged. Attaching 4 players to ropes gives the game an interesting dynamic. As for the theme, we spent lots of meetings trying to come up with a nice setting, until someone came up with the idea we went with, which is having the players be toys inside of a toy box. We used very bright colors and letter blocks to give the game a lighthearted feel, since it is a very casual multiplayer experience.

Vector Flight is a Topdown, Endless Shoot-em-up game where you can play with up to 4 people at the same time.

Vector Flight is a game that started out as a solo-weekproject in-between school projects. The goal was to create a "Shoot Them Up" game . The vector-based art-style came from the fact that the programmer wasn't able to draw any decent art in this time frame and thus resorted to the use of code to draw any and all objects.

Since that initial idea the game has had a lot of positive feedback, changes and even a Dutch Game Award to show. Nevertheless even during the continued development we are currently in we have stayed true to the roots of this project and plan to make this the best game we can possibly make.

Verus Amor is an academic exhibition based on my studies regarding the verious forms of love in humanity. I'd like to point out that in many ways the modern media has warped what it can mean to love someone. In today's society I have found "love" to often be portrayed in a selfish light. I'd like to propose that true love is selfless.

In these "essays" I'd like to explore the less cliche forms of love based on various texts drawn from sources such as classic literature, religious works, and word of mouth tales.

Walden, a game, is a first person simulation of the life of American philosopher Henry David Thoreau during his experiment in self-reliant living at Walden Pond. The game begins in the summer of 1845 when Thoreau moved to the Pond and built his cabin there. Players follow in his footsteps, surviving in the woods by finding food and fuel and maintaining their shelter and clothing. At the same time, players are surrounded by the beauty of the woods and the Pond, which hold a promise of a sublime life beyond these basic needs. The game follows the loose narrative of Thoreau's first year in the woods, with each season holding its own challenges for survival and possibilities for inspiration. The audience for the game is broad: from experimental game players to lovers of Thoreau and Transcendental literature. As such, the game offers more opportunities for reflective play than strategic challenge.

With my love of the board game Risk, I merged both passions into my creation.
